Credit and receivable management represents far more than selling to a customer and focusing on how to get paid if that customer defaults. This publication, while it touches on the risk and administartion side of receivable management, places an emphasis on the collection function. Unfortunately collections are only a small part of the overall receivable management process. It is too bad that most publications on credit and collections miss the point that credit and receivable mangement represents more than a back office operation that spends its days dialing for dollars.

I HAVE BEEN A DEBT COLLECTOR FOR OVER FOUR DECADES AND A COLLECTION AGENCT OWNER FOR 41 YEARS.
I DID NOT LEARN HOW TO COLLECT A DEBT FROM “CREDIT & COLLECTION FOR DUMMIES” BUT I DID DISCOVER THAT I COULD USE THIS BOOK AS A CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES TOOL.
AS AN AGENCY OWNER I HAVE TRIED TO EDUCATE MY CREDITOR CLIENTS ON HOW TO PROPERLY HANDLE THEIR RECEIVABLES. BY DOING THIS I GAIN NEW CLIENTS AND RETAIN CLIENT LOYALTY.
“CREDIT & COLLECTIONS KITS FOR DUMMIES” HAS BECOME A MUST READ BOOK FOR MY SALES STAFF AND ANYONE WORKING FOR ME THAT IS IN CONTACT WITH CREDITORS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE THAT IS INVOLVED WITH A COMPANIES ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE DEPARTMENT.

I needed a refresher to make sure I’m running my credit department the right way. This book has it all, from credit scoring, making good documents, demanding money in writing and by phone, and even “getting tough” if customers still don’t pay. It is easy to understand and follow the directions because the authors have taken the time to lay it all out, including scripts and forms. Good stuff.
