This book is not for anyone with even a basic understanding of personal finance. There were some decent ideas (a handful or so) but laborious in reading so much basic information to get to them. Very surprised for a book with the WSJ name on it.

This is a good book if you’re in high school, but for those of us who have graduated from college, we already know this stuff. I recommend Graham’s book (also coveted by Warren Buffet) and The Model Rules of Personal Finance for Professionals (American Bar Association 2008) for understanding how to manage your financial life and how to invest.

I have taught personal finance at a small liberal arts college and have used this book as the model for the class. An outstanding guide that provides an excellent range of topics. A must read for young adults who will be dealing with finances and monies shortly.

This is a very informative book written in easy to understand terminology. This should be REQUIRED reading in every high school in the U.S. I wish I had this information when I started working. It would have been helpful before I bought my house, and is still very useful as I plan my retirement savings.
